The Death-Throws: Obscure Marvel Super Villain Team

From wikipedia: The Death-Throws are a fictional team of supervillains in the Marvel Comics universe. They first appeared in Captain America #317 (May 1986) and were created by Mark Gruenwald and Paul Neary. Introduced as enemies of Hawkeye, the Death-Throws consists primarily of jugglers who each use various juggling props as weapons. Team members Bombshell (Wendy Conrad) and Oddball (Elton Healey) had previously debuted in Hawkeye Vol.1 #3 (Nov. 1983) and were also created by Mark Gruenwald.

Ringleader is built on a Mego T2 body with red hands; suit by me; original Mego Falcon head modified; repro Mego Superman boots; repro Mego Robin belt; rings are washers fastened to a wire coat hanger and then secured in his hands.

Oddball is built on a Mego T2 body with purple hands; suit by me; head a shrink of a Bullseye bust modified; CTVT belt; CAT boots; balls painted different colors and fastened through a wire coat hanger and then secured in his hands.

Bombshell is built on a female Mego body; suit be me; head from drmego.com; packs of dynamite from an ebay lot and fastened through a wire coat hanger and then secured in her hands. There are numerous variations of Bombshell. I chose to leave her hair long and her mask off.

Tenpin is built on a Mego T2 body; suit by me; head is an enlarged Booster Gold head; repro Green Arrow boots; bowling pins from CTVT and fastened through a wire coat hanger and then secured in his hands. I did not add the beard as is in the reference picture. I think I simply loved the way he looked like Booster Gold so much. LOL

Knick Knack is built on a CTVT flesh-colored muscle body; suit by me; head a repro Mego Paul Morrow head; boots from a Famous Covers Vision and painted purple; weapons are mostly repros (Conan's axe and sword; Flash Gordon knife; Tinman axe; and chainsaw from a Dollar General figure.) All fastened to a wire coat hanger and then secured in his hands.

His bio reads that he specializes in juggling items of dissimilar weights and sizes. I thought, what better than to juggle a bunch of sharp object of dissimilar weights and sizes?

    Group shot!

I had a tremendous amount of fun making this set of customs. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do, and, as always, thanks for looking.

    Peace, Love and Megos,

You gave these characters way more care and thought than they probably deserve. Really well done.

Wow, what a trip... Captain America 317 was the first comic book I remember owning!

Fantastic idea on how to portray the juggling.

Yeah, I can't even compete in the obscure, unappreciated characters anymore. You guys win, I surrender. BTW Austin those are so cool. If I ever had a list of ten characters that should never have a figure, you just made three or four of them...and I'm glad you did. KnickKnack?
