    Big Jim PACK Mego-ized

    Hello all,

As a kid back in the 70's my brother & I had a collection of Big Jim toys. That stuff is long gone, but I thought it might be cool to try to replicate them in Mego size, using as much stuff as possible from Doc Mego & CTVT. My goal was not to recreate exact replicas but rather figures that look 'close enough'

So here's the first 3 of 6: Torpedo Fist, The Whip, & Warpath:

(I hope this works, trying something new)

Are they perfect? Nope, and I'll be the first to admit that. But I think they look cool.

Zorak, Gold Commander Big Jim & Dr Steel are in the works.

    Submitted for your approval

Very well done!! You really captured the spirit of Big Jim from the Mego perspective. Would love to see a Dr. Steel rendition. What did you use for Torpedo Fist's punching arm?

They look fantastic! Very nice job. Are the clothes all from CTVT? They fit really well on Doc' bodies.

                Great idea and execution.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

The originals seemed so close to Mego scale... but still too big to really ever play with them both together. I would have loved to have them all in the same scale as a kid. Great job!

                          Hello all,

Thanks for all the positive comments, and to all that have taken a look at these. Much appreciated.

To answer a few a questions, and provide a few details:

Torpedo Fist uses a Doc Mego knight/Dr Doom glove, cast in brown. I can only imagine what Paul was thinking when he read my order for a 'knight glove in brown, right hand only'. Paul also cast the brown CHiPs boots for me.

Clothing is a mixed bag. The LJS pirate shirt & Fonz jeans are from CTV. Fist's pants are from the blue Clark Kent suit, not sure if from CTV or Doc. The Whip is wearing a vintage Action Jackson secret agent outfit & hat, off Ebay.

I scratch built all the Whip's weapons-if anyone is curious as to how just ask. The boomerangs really didn't turn out all that great, but the bandolier helps hide that. Paul at Laser Mego is making me some boomerangs-I'm certain his will be nicer than what I did, but I get a bit of satisfaction out of saying I made these ones myself.

Paul is also doing the Dr Steel dragon tattoo, the wolf head hand tattoos, and Jim's wolf head chest emblem.

Again, thanks to all that have checked these guys out.
