    JUSTICE by Alex Ross

Now that Halloween is over let's get back to some super-heroes, shall we?

From wikipedia: "Justice is a twelve-issue American comic book limited series published bimonthly by DC Comics from August 2005 through June 2007, written by Alex Ross and Jim Krueger, with art also by Ross and Doug Braithwaite. Its story involves the superhero team known as the Justice League of America confronting the supervillain team the Legion of Doom, after every supervillain is motivated by a shared dream that seems to be a vision of the planet's destruction which they intend to avoid.

The series heavily draws upon the 1970s Super Friends animated series, most notably the Challenge of the Super Friends incarnation, which featured the Legion of Doom as regular characters."

Some people loved this series. Others did not. But, I think most comic book fans thought that the suits of armor worn by the JLA were all that and a bag of chips. I know I did.

So I present to you for the first time in public my custom Mego JUSTICE action figures in their battle armor...

Superman: built on a Mego T2 Tinman body; suit is made using a fabric called liquid silver (a four-way stretch) and sewn together by Brian Leitner; rivet stickers and chest emblem designed by me and produced by www.lasermego.com ; head is an enlargement of the DC Universe head by me and cast using a metallic silver powder; paints by me as well.

A custom Aquaman is in the works but he is proving to be a challenge. And, if there was one other character I would make to add to this set it would be the Atom. I simply love his costume.

I hope you enjoy my customs as much as I do, and as always, thanks for looking.

    Peace, Love and Megos,

    Austin

Nice figures. This right where the Justice book went of the rails for me.

(BTW, I love "Justice." Seldomly has Arthur been better-depicted.)

                      Sweet! Those are beautiful.
On the customizing subject; Do you prep the surface of the boots before painting them? I've heard that brushing them down with acetone and washing it off with a mild soap and rinse, helps the plastic surface bond to the paint better.

Well I hated that comic, but I love these figures!
                        Especially Batman. Fabulous armor.
Though I wil not give the comic a second chance .

So-- out of curiosity, how did you do the red piping on the body of Batmans Armor? Is it an applied decal? Paint? Glued on vinyl sticker?.

Warm up?! We may as well sit around this cigarette!

I simply painted the boots with acrylic paint and a brush. I then sealed them with Rustoleum's Grip and Guard. If you want a dull finish you need to apply some Dulcotte as a last step.

Vinyl stickers were used. I simply sent the picture of Batman to www.lasermego.com and he sent back the "stripes". They were absolutely hellacious to apply because they are so thin. But, they look phenomenal!
