What If...MEGO had made the SUPER POWERS line?

The Kenner Super Powers line came well after I stopped collecting action figures and toys, but not for my younger brother. Because of him, I was exposed to the new GI JOE line, He-Man and, of course, Super Powers.

A few of these characters intrigued me: Darkseid, Kalibak, Tyr, Steppenwolf and Desaad. I was not familiar with them and couldn't remember seeing them on TV or in the comics.

Fast forward to the present: I had always wondered how these characters would look in Mego scale and with their recent addition to the DC Universe line my interest was piqued once again.

Today I present to you my first wave in what I call "What If...Mego had made the Super Powers line?"

Tyr: Built on a Mego T2 body with CTVT black hand; head an enlargement of the original Super Powers head; boots by Castaway Toys, arm from the new DC Universe collection Wave 14; suits and paints by yours truly.

with arm extended, ready for action!

Original Super Powers Tyr and New DC Universe Tyr

Kalibak: built on a CTVT flesh-colored Hulk body; head is an enlarged original Super Powers head; suit design by my friend Joel and printed by me; paints by yours truly.

    New DC Universe Kalibak

Darkseid's Minions of Menace join him to take over the world!

A big thanks to Mattel and Dr Mego for giving us a great Megoesque version of Darkseid. One so well-done I do not feel the need to make a custom of him any more.

I hope you enjoy my custom Mego Super Powers as much as I do, and, as always, thanks for looking.

    Peace, Love and Megos,

    Austin

PS Desaad and Steppenwolf coming soon!

They look great. The really interesting thing here is had fortunes gone a bit differently, this could have actually happened. Mego ceased to officially exist in 1983, and Kenner was awared the DC license, and debuted the Super Powers line in 1984.

what if they had been made by Mego? Then we would have had soem villains that could actually fight Superman, Supergirl, Shazam, and Wonder woman. LOL

I loved super powers figures, I still have the ones I had as a kid. Combining them with mego style is really awesome! I love these!

Now I would have loved to gotten those instead of the action figures. Great job.
