I recently got into buying Distinctive Dummies figures. Before now, I never liked most custom toys, except for Matt Jaycox's creations. I have always loved Matt's "MAGE" customs. Now I'm starting to get into Distinctive Dummies figures. I like their "manufactured" look. Their most recent offerings in particular look like they would be right at home in the action figure aisle at Toys 'R Us. When you combine that factory-made look with offbeat character choices, as if Sideshow lost their minds, then you have a winner with me.
My favorite Distinctive Dummies figure so far is very offbeat: Vincent Price as Edward Lionheart as Butch the hairdresser from Theatre of Blood. I bought two, one for me and one for another Vincent Price fan. This is the best Vincent Price "doll" I've ever seen. It captures not only his likeness, but also the mirthful spirit and playful malevolence that made him an icon.
I thought Butch was so cool that I took some pictures.
