I used Rust-Oleum Bright Coat Metallic Finish - it flaked at the hips and shoulders a bit so I'm redoing it with Rust-Oleum High Heat Ultra ( Rich Metallic Semi-Gloss Sheen ) the color is the same and it seem to have a slight speckle look to it that I like. I'll see if that is tougher. I was in an automotive shop and they have a spray plastic paint adhesive to use to bond paint to plastic but it was over $20.00 for a large spray can so I'll see if this works first.
I was asking bout the paint cause I know that the Fusion spray paint for plastics won't cure properly on some plastics...like the old Famous Covers figures. I dunno how it works on the Mego type plastics. Just curious.

I gotta make one of these. How's the paint holding on the head?
It holding up on the head excellent. I would suggest that if you cut the ears off ( which I did thatnks to megoknight's suggestion ) do it before you paint it. While I didn't have any trouble cutting the ears off after it was painted I would have prefered to do it before.
Really nice figure. That's a tough one to pull off. I like your take on the figure. You could have gone a couple different ways with it but I think you went in the right direction. I love that surfboard.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.
Looks great, man! I can definitely see him in a MEGO box on the shelf right next to Thor (since they're both kinda cosmic). Now you just have to come up with a MEGOesque (but larger) Galactus!!!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.
The thing that always bothered me about painting a nude Mego-like body to make the Surfer is too many of the joints show and the torso's proportions don't come close to the body type Jack Kirby drew. That's more a limitation of the Mego body sculpt than anything. Even if someone were emulating a Byrne version or Ron Lim, the Mego torso still doesn't match close enough. Maybe a less detailed Zica torso would come closer to a Kirby-like look. Still top notch work there.
