I want to say first, thank you to everyone for the kind words!
I was at work last night when I posted him so it was kind of quick post. That's why I skipped on the recipe. Lemme see if I can remember which various Hawkmans I robbed parts from...lol!
The head is a resin Hawkman head that I got from Doc Mego. Dremeled the original beak of and sculpted the new one out of Milliput...my first real venture into sculpting, and painted by me. It was a real BOOGER getting the flesh tone to match anywhere close to the bodies flesh tone.
The body is a Cast A Way body.
The costume pants are from Brian Leitner. Dude sews a mean costume.
The boots are DC RA Superman boots.
The belt is from a DC 9" Superman.
The chest harness and ball and chain is from a DC Direct First Appearance Hawkman.
The mace is from a DC Universe Classics Hawkman.
The sheild is from a DC Direct Hawkman and Hawkgirl 2 pack with GA and SA helmets.
The straps for the sheild are from the Wal Mart exclusive WW2 Captain America sheild.
And last but not least, the wings are from a DC Direct Brightest Day Hawkman.
Next to Captain America, Hawkman is one of my all time faverites, so he was a labor of love. With the combination of me working slow (I'm my own worst critic), cobbling together all of the parts (I love accessories) and re-sculpting the beak, he took me the better part of a year to do but I'm very happy with the results. Again, thanks to everyone for the kind words.Courage is being scared to death but saddlin' up anyway. - John WayneComment
