Looks great!! Would go good with the FC Invisible Woman, Hasbro Signature Series Mr. Fantastic, and the Toy Biz 10" Thing figure. Funny how it's the Fantastic Four, but no company since Mego was able to get them all done fantasticly in the same line.

It's not a doll it's an action figure.

He looks great, Gary! If you're working on a version 2.0, you might consider using a hot glue gun to drop blobs of glue on the costume, then paint those blobs yellow when they dry. It makes for a simple but effective "flame" effect. I made one using that technique back when I was doing FC customs.

I really thought about doing the hot glue effect. I may need to experiment with that one before I do it.

I don't understand why they chose Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman over Human Torch and the Thing. Makes no sense to me. I think they would have sold more of the other guys. I need a cool way of re-doing that Toy Biz 10" Thing.

With what I know inside about recent releases, who knows how they decide what's to be produced. It's mind boggling at times. The FC Hulk figure never did a lot for me, so I probably wouldn't have liked a FC Thing either due to the similarities they would have had. I believe there was talk that a Torch figure was slated for the Signature series line but when the wave with Mr. F tanked it was all scrapped. That SS line was by far the hardest to find, shortest printed, but the best as far as overall quality and character selection. They were proportionate and no constipation look like the FC figures. Iron Spidey was the only one I didn't really understand. He's still cool but not popular enough for a figure release IMHO.

I always thought it looked great as it was. It wasn't Mego but the piece itself was dead on.

I liked the 10 inch Thing (so to speak), but I'm a customizer, so I feel obligated to do "something" with it, I just don't know what.

The Signature Series (which was great) had a Human Torch that didn't make it.

                    I'm not impressed, though.

It's cool (or should I say hot?!) to see that Signature Series Torch, but like you, I'm not impressed.

As far as why ToyBiz chose Reed and Sue - undoubtedly, it was due to the relative ease of producing them vs Torch & Thing. Reed sported a re-use of the Peter Parker head from the first series of Famous Covers, and Sue had a re-purposed Storm head. The costumes were fairly easy to produce, making them a pretty simple and inexpensive retailer exclusive (Target) to produce.

Thank God for Sue Storm, at least there is a blond in the mix for customs.
