On a big John Wayne kick recently. Came across this custom from 2013 and really like it! Excellent work from the head to the custom outfit. I really like that hat too! I wonder if that was part of the sculpt or a separate accessory? Very nice though! And I LOVE the box. Great work!!!

I've been a John Wayne fan since childhood, remember watching many of his movies with my Dad, I have a library of almost all of his movies, Franklin mint items and a couple of Mego customs too, I used the same head sculpt.

Without question this is the best Wayne custom I have ever seen, amazing clothing detail and paints, and topped off
with a terrific custom art box, this has my vote for custom of the year (COTY) nice work.

The hat is separate from the head. I got it from Castaway several years ago. The head came from Black Knight and the shirt was made by Brian Leitner. I'm pretty sure I stole the pants off a Pa Walton figure.

I think I've got a Sgt. Stryker from Sands of Iwo Jima figure posted from way back, using the same head.
