    Nighthawk -- of the Defenders

Here we have a custom I have wanted to make for nearly 40 years when I first saw him in the pages of Defenders 18. I bought this issue for 25 cents and a Marathon candy bar for another 25 cents at the Golden Drug on Ogden Avenue in Berwyn, Ill. I was no more than 6 years old and my grandmother gave me 50 cents to go to the store. She even let me go myself. Unheard of today.

Head from next2lastmohican on ebay; my suit with cape; gloves and boots from CTVT or Doc Mego; paints by me.

Hope you enjoy. And, as always, thanks for looking.

    Peace, Love and Megos,

    Austin

          He looks terrific!

One of my favorite Marvel second-stringers--I just finished re-reading his villain appearance in Daredevil #62.

I've wanted to do a custom of him but was stymied by the head & cape.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Cadburry makes the closet thing: the Curly Wurly bar. I believe they are made in Great Britain. I have ordered them online and found them in specialty candy shoppes here in the States. Close to the Marathon bar just not as long.

Nice custom. How come you went with the cape look? Nighthawk has more of a winged 3-D cape.
