Seriously, thanks for the heads-up; I actually noticed that too, after posting the pics. A couple of quick jabs with the fabric pen, and problem solved!
Thanks for the kind words!Comment

The most recent custom I completed was a Kathy Kane Batwoman, can't remember if I've posted that or not. Here are some pics I took of my DCD 13" collection (factory releases and customs); they are all displayed in 6 IKEA Detolf units in my home office:

Thanks!
I was lucky to get many of these DCD 13"-ers relatively cheap - $25-35 for multiples of Shazam, Nightwing, Black Canary, Zatanna, Aquaman, etc. I find them easier than to customize than standard 1/6 figures, and even though they stand at least an inch taller than most 1/6 scale figures, you can still use accessories from that scale.
Good luck, look forward to seeing what you create!Comment

I think the DC Direct 13 in figs are awesome. I know alot of people trash them because they are bigger than the other 1/6 figs. I think it's great that they are in a size all their own. they may not all have the best sculpts but thats not many. Costumes are great. Have you used any other hands on them? I don\t mind the fists, but the bendy hands are terrible.
I'm goona start off with some easy ones Like a Earth 2 Batman. I really want a Hawkman but have never done any sculpting.Comment

I agree that the bendy hands are less than ideal. Unfortunately, other 1/6 hands are just too small. I do my best to get one bendy hand in a decent pose, and use a fist for the other hand.
I completely agree with you about the DCD 13"-ers; the bodies look much more "heroic" than other 1/6, they just look better in superhero costumes. I wish the hands and wrist articulation were better, and the cut bicep joints are less than ideal, but otherwise they're great. I do wish there was a smaller "teen" female body to go with the teen male body, as I'd love to build the Legion of Superheroes. The standard female body is too, um, developed to mix with the teen male body.Comment

You must have the most expensive customs ever. Those bodies alone have to cost a fortune...eh? Love your work, you have an incredible gift and even though it's not quite Mego your work sticks in my head because you chose not to become a sculptor (like the majority of some customizers) and make masks, design a head or create one from scratch. What you do is so cool, you actually design a removable cowl or mask for a character out of fabric and that is something that you do not see very often.
The fact that when I first came across your work on here you blew me away that you tackled the JSA right off hand (something that took me ages to think of various ideas, looks, and gathering parts).
Now you have taken this amazing approach on the Riddler and a Blue Beetle in your works to boot. You are someone that I do not see very often that I stop, look and go, "hey that's different but it's an original custom idea and I like it."
Like I said, I can't even imagine what you must do to come across those bodies they can't be cheap. (Unless you work for the toy company itself and get a deal on the stuff). You must have some pretty deep pockets. May I borrow 50 grand? j/k.
Keep posting your updates in here. I await each post.More custom Mego madness on Facebook right here...
