The Mattel Green Arrow's Speedy (All Grown up!)

I finally found the head and body I wanted to use for these clothes Brian Leitner designed. I had them waiting on a generic body until I could find a body and a vinyl head that would fit.

I think the Mattel Green Arrow was a brilliant figure. So brilliant I wished they would have made a side kick for him.
Of course we got no Robin for Batman and Mattel's super hero line went down the toilet.

This here happens to be a very of Roy Harper as Red Arrow. The suit is designed by Brian Leitner so it would closely match the Mattel Green Arrow. Originally when doing the project Roy Harper was the Red Arrow an a member of the Justice League. When the suit arrived I had to put it on hold for awhile until I could find something that would accommodate Green Arrow.
In the pre-52 DC Universe Roy Harper and Oliver Queen were not the best of buddies toward the end.
Now that 52 Universe junk that is out there basically has Roy Harper is a outlaw jerk.

When it comes to customizing I'm sticking to the classics and this is Red Arrow (the one who earned his licks and joined the JLA as the Green Arrow's replacement.

Here they are.....a kind of "What If" Mattel did the Red Arrow. The trick was hunting down the spare parts to match Green Arrow. I came close but I can do so much. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. As for the head, I think it is the perfect head because of the share of strawberry blond hair. Whatever it was used for before I don't care. Use your imagination. It's Red Arrow.

Cool! He looks great all growed up! The 'timming the mask' comment made me laugh.

This is why Green Arrow is my favorite super hero! I think he is the greatest. Oliver Queen is so suave and funny. I just wish that the television show "Arrow" would stop referring to him as the Hood. I can think of a million reason why "The hood" sounds like a horrible nickname. His name is GREEN ARROW! grrrr

This picture here is from a comic book. I looked at it a few times to make sure it wasn't anything bad for this board. (No nudity or bad language. If it is not acceptable, just remove it.)

Great Job! Roy Really deserves more respect. Ever since they made him a Junkie, that's all he is , is a joke. While it was an amazing story it ruined a character forever.

I guess somebody had to be the fall guy. They had been planning the story for quite awhile Originally the big boys wanted it to be Dick Grayson and the whole entire committee lost their minds with that idea. So I guess poor Roy was the fall guy.
Being a "junkie" is a bad thing but it can happen to anyone. All it takes it one time and you could be hooked to just about anything. I have the original stories in comic book and digital form. I re-read them awhile ago and it's a shame that the Comics code wouldn't get behind it. It was a good lesson for kids and drugs.
