Thank You Mego Community!
I'm not sure where to post this - so Please MOD's feel free to move it to where it needs to go.
I just figured it should go here because this is where most of you know me from.
I would just like to say Thank You to everyone here at the MM who have reached out to me, and also to give everyone an update to where I stand.
Truly I'm over whelmed by so many of you reaching out to me. I know I only know you guys through the boards and email etc.. But the fact so many of you have reached out to me was very emotional and I thank you all for doing so. Words can not express how grateful I'm you have done so.
Not sure if most of you know this but I live in Staten Island, New York.
We were hit very bad by the storm. Thank God my family and I are all ok. While my house took on some damage I'm very lucky, and grateful it was not worse. I'm sure some of you have scene some pictures - So I'm lucky it was not a lot worse. A lot of families were not so lucky and their homes and lives will never be the same again.
I have been with out power since Tuesday -and at the moment still no power yet but they are working on it. I'm actually at work at the moment.Other big issue at the moment is the lack of gas - it is starting to get ugly - people waiting on lines for like 4/5 hours just to get nothing. As of this morning people were lined up for stations that were closed with signs that say "No gas" in hopes that if they get gas today.
Lucky my in laws have power - so I have shipped the twins there. My wife and I have been staying at the house at night because a lot of looting has been going on at the empty houses. I'm lucky that I have a gas fireplace so the house has heat.
My heart and prayers go out to anyone who was effected by this storm, and also their families. If there is anything I can do to help please send me a PM.
I have never witnessed stuff like this in person before. You see stuff like Katrina on TV and really as bad as it looks on TV it is so much worse in person.
Stuff like this puts it all in perspective. If you think you got problems they probably are not so bad.
So again - Thank God I'm ok and Thank God things were not worse.
If anyone else is from SI - and needs any sort of help please PM me. I Have Blankets, jackets, water if anyone needs.
And again from the bottom of my heart thanks so much for reaching out to me to see if I was ok.
Really glad I joined the boards - and glad to have such a caring 2nd family/ community.
God Bless you all, and Thank you again.
