This is SCAREDY CAT the man with, well, an excessive amount of fear and the speed and agilty to beat a hasty retreat. He aspires toward DARK AVENGER OF THE NIGHT status, but mostly he runs and gets help and tries not to get killed. The first (very minor) hero from SUPERVILLAIN FOR PRESIDENT.
Gavin Miller was a frightened and timid child who grew up into a frightened and timid adult. Studying psychology in college, he volunteered for an experiment in the fight or flight response, the results of which allowed him to channel his escessive fear into superhuman speed, agility and leaping ability. Now, as an inner-city social worker, he battles crime (generally speaking) as Scaredy Cat.
After the CATASTROPHE (a big hero/villain battle that killed off the a-list heroes and villain---wherein such notable figures like Captain Odyssey, Vomit Comet, The Secret Handshake, the superhuman gunslinger Cowgirl and her evil doppelganger Reverse Cowgirl were destroyed along with most of the city of Chicago), it was agreed that the heroes and villains would stop their activities, Scaredy Cat continued to do what he could to help the people of his city. His D-list status is the only thing that kept him alive.
That, and the belief that he actually possesses 9 lives and is almost impossible to kill.
But he is one of the few who have actually seen the true face of Dr. Tentacle and could interfere with his run for the presidency. Dr. Tentacle has dispatched Horroshow to kill the 'Cat and maybe even 9 lives won't be enough to save him. (dunt-dunt-dummmm)
