    Dr. Mrs. The Monarch

Finally finished this variation of Dr. Girlfriend. I was pondering how to pull off the costume when I realized that the Mattell Retro Action Cheetah jumpsuit was the exact same color as the Monarch outfits. It goes against everything I believe in, but I decided to try painting the black and flesh parts of the costume (while it was on the body) and I'm surprised how good it looks. The drawback is the acrylic paint makes her a little less poseable, the costume is basically glued to her torso from the paint saturating the fabric...but that kind of works for the look you want anyway. Magic Sculpt crown and a little tape for the details. I cut the Cheetah boots off at the ankle to go the shoe-boot route.

I think she and the Monarch will be very happy together.

Way to rock the fabric paint Mr A! I've never seen it look so sharp!

I'm also disturbed at how sexy I find this figure, I gotta go take a walk or something...

NICE! She looks terrific - like BBP made her themselves!

Any chance we can get a tutorial about your fabric painting skills, the brand of fabric paint you used, etc.?
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

The fabric paint works! You got a nice screen-printed look going on with it.

Thanks a lot. I didn't use fabric paint, this is straight up Liquitex acrylic paint that I had on hand in my art box. So the fabric is essentially plasticized now, and like I said, it really limits the poseability. If I made her sit down there would be a crease--the paint would crack and you'd see the yellow underneath, and the suit is pretty much glued to her body now. But yeah, I just put down some painter's tape and went to town.

I want to try a sewn costume with a black bodysuit using Cheetah legs and arms.

I'm a huge fan of the Retro Action female body. It's not great for posing, but it sure is shapely. I'm sure BBP plans to do this variation, but I'm not sure you'd get as nice a result on a Mego/EMCE female body.
