Toyman_Chris made some customs. Seriously? Yupp! Seriously.

I have pretty much said from day one that I am not a "customizer". I doubt I will ever be able to scult or sew my own costumes. Still I had a vision to get some customs done for my collection.

Just Kit Bash on these, but thrilled to have done them myself. I had made a Peter Parker for my collection a few months back and bought a custom Bruce Wayne. So for what it's worth, I have my AE set. Probably the only one I will ever own. LOL

I have wanted a Zorro in my collection since day 1. I finally ordered the stuff to put him together.

This is the one I am most proud of. For what it's worth, I just did some shopping on the Doc mego site and CTVT site to come up with the items I needed to make the Doctor Fate I have long wanted. I sewed the shoulder gards on (I sewed...my wife was impressed. LOL). I painted the eye slits. I never did model kits as a kid, so seriously, eye slits was a big jump for me. LOL. I also made the amulet (using a yellow version of the Iron Man button). Anyway....I wanted to share what I had done. Not expecting big praise, but I am pretty thrilled and I guess at least it's a start.

I really appreciate that. I really wanted to do him right. I went with the WWMD philosophy. I actually prefer a yellow set of Pirate boots I picked up, but MEGO would have used the "super hero" boots. Same thing with gloves. I almost used yellow hands, but felt that they would have gloved him. Although, they did do red hands for spiderman and green hands on GA. Who knows. I just went this route.

Nice job! It's amazing what you can make just buying the right pieces. It's funny, I am very proud of my Dr. Fate too. He seem to be one that we all want and when we make him it's special. I also went with regular hero boots, thought about using gloves but went with yellow hands on mine.

Don't rule out being able to sew something, I'm not on the level of some of the others around here but I NEVER thought I'd be able to do the things I'm doing. Pick an easy pattern to try first.

You realize that now you've crossed a line from which there is no going back, custome are like potato chips you can't stop at a couple. I can't wait to see how far you come in six months. Keep up the good work!

Dr. Fate is the cream of the crop Chris. Glad you showed these off.

Another museum member has caught the customizing bug...it is contagious. Looking forward to more stuff from you.
