    Tomland The Fly: by dr_cyclops

Now here is a quickie. Body, all clothes and shoes from the "Create your own Zombie kit" EMCE. and a head and claw hand from DrMego. I've wanted a Mego style 'The Fly' forever. This was so much fun to make.

Awesome! Let me guess...his name is BUZZ? His hobbies include FLY fishing? He married his childhood sweetheart MAGGIE? They have two boys named HARRY and CLAUDE?

                Sorry...I couldn't resist...

Just perfect! Been planning one such myself.

Are the eyes a metallic red? They look kind of coppery...

Good question. A mix of "Citadel Colour" 'Blood Red' and 'Burnished Gold'. The edge around the eyes is just 'Blood Red'. Thankfully these pics don't show the horrible attempt at adding 'Amethyst Purple' hair highlights on the head. I rushed it, and it shows. :(

I guess some of my old 'Citadel Colour' may be collector's items. Upon finding my 15 year old gaming miniture paints. I found that the 'snap-top' bottles survived much better than the later 'screw-caps'. "Citadel Colors" still uses 'screw-caps' bottles, so I'm now using "Formula P3" because of the 'snap-top' bottles.
Update: "Citadel Colour" is using 'snap-top bottles. The shape looks close to the design of the old 'screw-tops'. My mistake. Still, I'm buying 'Formula P3' because the design is closer to the original 'Citadel Colour' bottle design. I can give no long term opinion for "Citadel's" current bottle/snap-top cap design.

When it comes to packaging, window boxes are my favorite. Thanks to Anthony/the Toyroom and Paul/DrMego, my custom Tomland 'The Fly' is (IMO) better than the original. I added a snap onto the lab coat so it could be closed at the waist. Head is now completely black. Amethyst hair details removed.
In package pic, is with flash. I chose this pic because it shows the eye color best.

Looks awesome. I may have to do a 9 inch scale one. I was trying for something like this with my Dr. mantis.

Mina is the world's first Paranormal Petsitter in the new middle-grade book series by Gary Buettner, MONSTER PETS, coming in FALL 2014 from EMBY KIDS. Spooky adventure that's perfect reading for kids 8-12

Loving this!!! It turned out fantastic. Always wanted one of these, might have to try my hand (or claw) at it.

Perfect in every way, but that paint job and color scheme really nails it.
