Custom of the Week - 6/18/2012 - Mego Meet 2012 edition

One of the highlights of Mego Meet has become the custom kitbash contest. Sharing the spotlight this week are Sean Gordy - aka legend of link aka Chad Gordy 2.0; and Jim Hampton aka megojim. For those of you who don't know how this works, the participants start foraging for parts on Friday evening. Thread and paint aside, the ingredients for each figure must be from the dealers/traders at Mego Meet. At the end of the day Saturday, the esteemed judges (Random Axe Pierce and Megospidey Combs) picked two winners in the adult and kids categories. Sean made Hellboy; Jim the Wolfman.

Great job guys - these will be tough to top next year!

one of the best reasons to attend the meet firsthand...I love watching the stuff come together.
Sean has my head spinning on making a Hellboy for myself..but I'll just at a peek at his occasionally and enjoy.
Then there is brother Jim...Wolf Man is in a good home ;-)

FYI the recipe went as follows: Wolfman 7" figure, cobbled head forearms and legs just below the knees. Doc mego muscle/hulk body, sawed off forearms and lower legs with pocketknife saw, knew that thing would come in handy one day. Pinned an glued new body together attached head to a resin plug. Hair/ fur compliments of our own Dorthy from Wizard of Oz. Pants, real heroes firefighter; Shirt, GI joe or other 12" jumpsuit, Vest, not sure some brown, closed collar shirt. Thanks to chad and Sean for the use of their glue, chris dvm for the super dremel when mine crapped out. Also thanks to the judges, youR check is in the mail

Both look great. All the more impressive considering how quickly these were created. Yet another reason I envy you guys who went to the Meet...

These look awesome. For kitbashes they look way better than some other customs I've seen here

It was very cool to watch them all come together. Excellent work on all counts. Definitely one of the highlights of the Meet. The figures just keep getting better and better.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.
