1970's style crudely made rubber monster

This is in sync with this thread here:

    http://megomuseum.com/community/showthread.php?t=73772

I am also sure some of you may think I am taking up worthless space in your custom forums with projects like these, but I also like to show things out of the norm and for the small percentage of you who may appreciate the ideas

This is a custom (which was part of some material testing originally) for a 1977-1982 rubber monster style type jiggler. This would be the type you might find at some Carnival or low end supermarket at that time. Possibly based on some sort of prehistoric shark or fish and has the "not politically" correct look (that virtually all rubber monsters have today) and painted kind of crudely. I have a few actual pieces like this one. He is made of Zubber and covered with flex seal (only upper part, bottom was not touched- part of the testing), painted with testors acrylic. Had trouble with the camera flash making parts of him a bit brighter than they should be, but good enough

Looks like something you'd see in a Syfy Original movie

Ah but how did your research pan out Dr. Maz??? Does the material have the feel and pliability you were looking for?
Aside from the sculpt, (Which is probably way better than anything I could produce.)

Well zubber so far (and now allumilite) are really the only two I have come across that are close to the rubber material of the 70's. Though (was it you??) that mentioned in another thread to use smooth-ons dragon skin which supposedly gives it a more fleshy feel.

the second grader looking sculpt I had to do in under 4 mins because that is when zubber starts to harden (where as aalumilite hardens in 2 mins)

Flex seal has it uses (see the other thread I listed in the first post) because I was able to cover and paint the zubber (since nothing sticks to this stuff), but not as a "mold filler"
