I like that look.

Consider how Mego clothing went from a skinsuit with Tarzan, to nothing with Conan and Hulk.

So, would they have painted a body to cut back on the clothing cost, or would they go the Human Torch and Thing route?

With Torch, you don't have the apparent body definition like Surfer always has had, but they added the flame look, just like the Rock look to Thing.

IMO, if we're talking '78, I don't think they would add a flat skinsuit, but chrome like Thor's helmet. So I think yours is as close as it gets with vaccuforming.

I like it just as it is. A suit never really works for me on the Surfer. I haven't seen the suit to be fair. So I am looking forward to seeing that version too.
I would love to have an Electroplated Silver Surfer Mego figure.

I think he's awesome I wouldn't worry about a suit but I bet Brian will make one too awesome to not use. Very Cool on the Luthor head too BTW
