Choosing Mego Paint Colors

Hi guys!

New to Mego Customization and so excited to learn! Thank you to everyone who provided such amazing information on this in the Customization Section of Mego Museum! Wow!

Looking for some sort of list of accurate colors to use... ie. What color is "Spiderman Red"? What color is the right skin tone? etc...

Can anyone help?

For paints, I have a variety, mostly acrylics. You get what you pay for with paint. If you browse the Finished customs section, you'll see that everybody uses different techniques and materials, depending on the character, and what your vision is for them. There is a lot of trial and error.

You will just have to experiment on the paints. As far as I know, there are no "official" Mego colors made by anyone.

I spent about twice what I normally do on this one bottle of silver and it worked 100X better than the cheaper brand. I'm talking like, $2.00, but it really made a difference.

Yes, I totally agree with the majority here: do not skimp on the quality of the paint.
Yeah, you'll pay more, but you will get better results.

Acrylic paints do work best with original Megos, and the color selection has really grown, so you can often pick just the color you need & paint straight from the bottle without having to mix! And Acrylics are easy cleanup, too: water!

Oh, and be prepared to spend time in fabric shops!
I think you are really going to enjoy this hobby!
