My Custom Steve Rodgers and Captain America Figures
Hello Mego Heads! Up for Viewing today is My Custom Steve Rodgers and Captain America Megos. I made these 2 about 6-
ten years ago(I do not plan on doing one per day)
Just excited to be here and glad to share. I'm working on just getting you shots of my whole collection.
for those of you who would try to make these - they are fairly easy and here is my recipe:
Steve Rodgers - I used an original mego type 1 body. His suit is an original mego/ acyion jackson army suit. His Head is a Flash Gordon resin head scaled to 8". (It was painted by Dave McCormick for me). I helped Mike Rodgers design the card - I told him exactly what I wanted and he brought it to life for me. I wanted to capture when he transformed into Captain america - I know it is hard to believe - but even though the he has been in comics since 1941 - it is almost impossible to find him as skinny rodgers and in his army uniform. So we had to settle for these images.
For Captain America - He has a modifed suit from my mom. I think I took his shield off an old 12" marvel universe Capatin America by toy bix in the 90's.
His head is an AquaMan Dc heros scaled down to 8"size. It is made of Resin and was again painted for me by Dave McCormick. His repo card was made by Durso. His gloves were made by some rubber company - I forget the name. I have not scene them around in years. (they also made awesome batman gloves)
