    Karloff Mummy

Hello everybody, Wayne here..Well, besides 3 zombies, here is my first true custom...The Mummy...Head ordered from Doc, and the body and hands from my one zombie kit....Whole lotta paint, gauze and hot glue and voila...The Mummy lives....

Took about 1 1/2 months for all four to get finished...In person, these things are NICE!! Heavier than a vintage figure, more stable to pose....Doc has a great product!! Wayne

Very nice Mummy. Excellent wrappings and nice choice of color on hands and face.

absolute awseome customs, the mummy is great.......i done one of these a very long time ago, with the wrappings more weathered i burnt a cork, then shaved the burnt end, used brown sugar, pulverized it finer than what it was. collected it all in a little bottle cap..mixed it until nicely brown.. dabbed it all wet. i mean barely...and then just applied it to my brush and almost as if you were dry brushing, apply it to the parts you want to look beat and wethered, like feet, ankles, hands, etc etc..oh forgot to mention, i would use 5 minute epoxy on the end of a q tip, roll the q tip over the spot where i wanted the weather. why not just paint?? you can..but this way for me at least gave it the sandy feel on the wrappings...i wouldnt do it on a finsihed custom though......but this came out great...the size you cut the wrappings, the slight fray in places.....really cool on him...and the rest are masterful also.....a big congrats,,,

Thankz buddy....Years ago, i may have, but nowadays, there are lots to do...I wanted to be able to pose him a lot too, so any extra detail on any of my toys means i can't play with'm!! I've made my fair share of models, but when Doc made the zombie kit, it is the best of both worlds..plus, i was never that clever at weathering a model...you just got a great paintjob!!...Great idea about the weathering for the wraps,BTW....Do you have any pics of yours?? And, welcome to the Mego Museum

Mine is long gone...sorry it is too.....I also did a 1960's aurora model the mummy, I added wrapping, the customer loved it.....great close ups, perfect amount of detail......you do great work.....I have wanted to do a Frankenstein for the longest time, but I fear that I will only frustrate myself as he is hard to to correctly....at least from the shoulders up he is.

great way to merge the zombie kit into a mummy.
If i had anything to say; the mummy wrappings need some stains..but that's just me.
I still love that gooey zombie with the chest plate. Love that paint job bro.

Thankz!! I started with a dark blue basecoat, then worked up to a light gray/white, then finished up with a dark blue drybrush again, very lightly..I basically achieved the colour i was after...Wayne
