Agent Orange -- First Foe of Batman and the Outsiders
In Batman and the Outsiders No. 3 our heroes for the first time as an "official" team came face to face with Agent Orange.
Agent Orange was originally a man claiming to have served in the Armed Forces who saw combat in the Vietnam War. He further claims that during that time he suffered some type of debilitating injury or ailment, and was bitter and resentful over how he was treated by both the military and the general public upon his return to the United States.
Deciding that the government had to pay for his mistreatment, he became Agent Orange, and, armed with a gun that fires napalm, began to commit a series of terrorist attacks in Gotham City. These attacks were to culminate with a massive final strike in which he and his followers would expose the entire city to toxic gas, killing thousands.
The attack was foiled by the Batman and his teammates in the Outsiders. Agent Orange was captured and sent to prison, and remains there to this day.
This was the only appearance Agent Orange ever made.
Now I displayed my custom Agent Orange at Mego Meet as a live, in-person "Obscure Villain Contest" reminiscent of the one I used to have on my website. Sadly, none of the "fan-boys" who showed up to MM knew who he was.
His suit was made by me; his head is a combination GA Sandman with the beret from a PACO Magnificent Team action figure; harness from Big Jim I believe; hoses from 12" GI Joe; CAT boots, cuffs and gripper hands painted orange; CAT body with swivel arms; CTVT rifle; tank on back from LJN Emergency kit and tank on front custom made.
With Batman and Geo Force in hot pursuit
I made everything orange because I think the only reason he had some "yellow" in the comics was to give him more "depth". Viva artistic freedom!
