First off for those of you who are unaware, The Amazing Screw-On Head was a one shot comic book by Mike Mignola (Hellboy) published by Dark Horse Comics. The comic was later optioned to possibly become a TV series on the SyFy network and one episode was made. The episode was the cartoon adaptation of the one shot comic and had the vocal talents of Paul Giamatti as Screw-On Head, Patton Oswald as his faithful man servant Mr. Groin, David Hyde Pierce as Emperor Zombie, and Molly Shannon as Screw-On Heads former one true love, but now undead creature of the night, Patience the Vampire. The story took place during the Civil War Era and Screw-On Head works for President Abraham Lincoln. The one shot captured my heart when I first read it and the cartoon expanded on it even further. When the DVD was released Mike Mignola wrote a forward the explained where the idea for Screw-On Head came from. Basically it was his idea for a toy line, not unlike Captain action, in which you would buy one Screw-On Head figure (just a head) and then you buy many many body expansions. Each body for a different power for SOH to use. Any how once I learned it was supposed to be a toy line I wanted to see it become a reality so now that I am attempting to start sculpting I figured my first big project should be him. Now I have only been sculpting for about a week or two and this is only my third sculpture. So without further adieu here is my attempt at an Amazing Screw-On Head action figure:

I used a CTVT Body as the base and I sculpted on top of it. The head is just clay and a screw (I'll post a picture of that later) this is the second head I have made for him. I'm not sure which I like better, if I end up casting him I'll put it to a vote. Here is a shot of him next to Hellboy just for fun:

Thanks for looking!
