    Master Dietrich Von Kierkegaard

I've completed my first custom Mego. It turned out better than I could have hoped--I'm not really very crafty.

A little back story on this guy, Master Kierkegaard just recently arrived in the Baltic region, where the Teutonic Knights have just absorbed/assimilated the remnants of the Sword Brothers. He is going to be rather lucky. It turns out that he will come down sick in the spring of 1242 and miss a certain unfortunate battle on a lake that wasn't as ice-covered as it should have been.

I think he looks pretty sweet in the history section of the bookcase.

Awesome Man, Congratz on that first custom! First attempts usually aren't as clean as yours, nice craftsmanship!

That's a pretty solid first effort, far better than mine.

when I first saw the title, I thought he was maybe a distance relative of Soren Kierkegaard, the Danish theologian and philosopher.

Great first effort - he very much looks the part!

Though I am not Lutheran myself, I named him after my two favorite Lutheran theologians, the aforementioned Soren Kierkegaard and the German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer. The other name I was kicking around was Ludwig von Mozart.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer is one my FAVORITE authors I am reading the newest biography by Metaxas right now.

For those not familiar with Bonhoeffer, he was a German Lutheran pastor who attempted (along with others) to assassinate Hitler during WW2. The plot was discovered and Bonhoeffer was imprisoned and eventually executed.

I believe - and I may be mistaken - that the move "Valkyrie" was set right after the Bonhoeffer attempt.

Nice, love the Knights line and cool to see customs in that direction.

I want to do a Viking next, but I was looking at Mongols, Huns, and Ottomans, for the possible project after the Viking.
