New custom additions (past two weeks)

I've had a break for a few weeks from the band up until now to tweak a few customs over the time period. I worked on several characters and bettered some figures that have been really doing nothing but taking space or needed some work.

It was a really nice day here (no wind) and my daughter thought it would be a really neat idea to take shots of the recent work outdoors.

There was a guy on here that taught me a great deal about taking pictures outside and I have stored it away in my hat and have been doing a lot of outdoor experiments with my daughter.

Here are some of the latest. No, they are not as good as some of you guy's work but to heck with it. I had fun doing it and she had fun taking pictures.

    Enjoy.

I spent weeks on end tweak this woman. I still plan to do an original Helena Wayne and I may have Brian Leitner help me with that process but as for new versions. Here is the latest...

This one is kind of like an alternate reality shot. I had an extra hook armed Aquaman that I designed during my "gray period" here. The Aqualad I recently did after deciding I'll never own an original Teen Titans one. I am going to eventually make a Tempest.
My daughter loved this shot by a water pond.

Making a Dr. Pym only was because of the popularity of the Mighty Avenger's cartoon. We originally had a goofy head on the Dr. Pym figure and we wound up modifying a Mattel Aquaman for the better effect.
Captain Marvel took a bit of tweaking. Wanted to go with the classic look. I read where they are bringing him back from the dead somehow. Either way, I did one like I promised.

Of course you can't have a Dr. Pym without his wife. The one of many suits worn by the Wasp. Yes, I know Wasp don't have wings when she is normal sized. Oh well, I couldn't resist. I have a one inch Hero click I broke off the stand dial and painted up for the tiny occasion.

Then Dr. Pym has another alter ego he becomes when he grows...

The one Spider-Man villain never thought I would do but the this Hispanic male head was calling me. Just a little modification and some sculpty work and after I made the skin tight bandanna mask was added, this bag guy was calling me.

The modern version of Nighthawk. Yes, this is the actual look that Nighthawk has turned up with. The only reason I did this version and not his classic Defenders look was because I had a nice pair of yellow pirate Dr. Mego boots I didn't want to goto waste. I'll do a classic one later.

Last but not least. Yes, another one of this guy. I felt that my last version of him sucked really bad. I used the wrong colors and the mask was way too blue.
I took on a blacker approach using a Black Manta body suit.
How does this work? The mask is a reworked Starbuk silicone mask that I embedded to the head sculpt so that it wouldn't deteriorate.

They have been having Wildcat appear in the recent JSA books wearing black boxing lace up boots. I am going to look around for something like that. The bare feet always bothered me on him (even though thats not really what they were in the comics)

Nice work! I am diggin the Huntress!
If what you see is what you get and perception is reality, why can't you judge a book by it's cover??

You've obviously been putting a lot of work into these. It is nice to get pictures outside when you can. I like that your daughter is involved. Nice.

Oh my god! She got her second wind! She lives for this stuff!!!!
This guy on here used to tell me to take the stuff outside. I was hesitant at first but now I eat my crow. Hopefully one day we can get back to the fun days on here.

I had her done for weeks I just didn't know how to make her belt buckle shine. Then I painted a gold tact (after removing the pin) and sealed it and it seems to shine. I really wanted to do Helena Wayne but I am saving the stitching for Brian Leitner. He's the man.

I think when we totaled them up it came to two hundred and something.

This is what I counted (the figures that are not in boxes on the other shelves).
This is a combination of my customs with the other ones. My daughter actually thought it was fun marking everyone down and we put them in Excel.

I am sure my custom/loose list don't even touch some of you guys's stuff and I don't even consider myself one of the best customizers on here. I just love doing it for the daughter. As long as they look good and can be played with...I had done my part.

After I mastered finally making body suits about a year ago. I spent about five months cutting off the failed attempt "painted body suits" and replacing them with fabric. It was a pain staking nightmare but I have learned a lesson and move on into the next step. No more paint!! "Save that for DC Direct Figures" one member put it. He was right.
I got plenty more to come especially since that nice fella came me a fast an easy little tip with the Fray Chec trick.
