Ichigen-issoku
一眼一足
("one eye and one leg")
There is a legend that after the high priest Jinin (慈忍) of the Mount Hiei Temple(home of the Souhei, warrior monks) in Kyoto died, his spirit became a one-eyed, one-legged creature. He always carried a ringing bell around his neck and a red cane in his hand. He once walked around the mountain at midnight, angering some young priests who were "cutting the twicer or admonish training". Only his red cane and an old illustration of his appearance remain today.
Here's my Ichigen-issoku action figure.I used some Emce(Torso ,leg, and biceps)and some Castaway parts(the forearms including the hands) that I got in a recent trade.I sculpted over the foot with clay to give him a new foot and sculpted his buttocks from clay as well. For the head I used a resin captain America head(I got in a trade from a while back),which I sculpted a new face(except I kept the mouth and I kept the ears but I extended the earlobes with the clay to give him Buddha-like ears)and forehead with clay.I sculpted his bell from clay around a piece of elastic cord.I made him his red walking-stick/cane or more like walking-staff (from the one image I could find of him)from a wooden chopstick.I painted the staff red and all sculpted parts with acrylics and sealed with the Mod-podge.My Wife Tomoko sewd his priests robes, cap,and vest.
