SInce I had a newer custom Batman. I hadta make a newer Robin to go with him. I used the classic Robin head just to keep it more Mego. The cape is vynil tablecloth material, yellow and black spraymounted together. A real headache figuring out how to cut it so as to make a good looking cape.
For those who recall the vacuform device I posted a while ago. Robin's belt is the first practicle application of the vacuformer.

As the photo shows. The original was formed from popcicle sticks from the craft store and a plastic dodad. I made it thick so as to make a deep mold in the plastic sheet. Once I had my vac mold. I made a mixture of Aleene's tacky glue and some yellow acrylic paint. I brushed it into the mold in thin layers so it would dry and not adhere to the plastic mold. It also helps to chill the mold and contents so the dry vynil glue will condence and be easier to remove. As you might notice from the final product. Vacuforming is not the greatest for sharp details and crisp edges. Its much better for softer details and rounded edges.
