vs. what I was supposed to be doing
I was SUPPOSED to be cleaning up my workspace and listing a bunch of stuff up for sale, BUT
Instead, I spent the majority of Sunday morning creating a homemade Dalek with my son. Too much fun. Actually, the whole family got involved. Mom came up with the awesome limbs, sister donated the vending machine ball for the turret/head, and my boy gleefully painted lentils and strips of cardboard and glued them onto the torso. I added the details, and gave our figure some motorvation by making some wheels and axels from spare beads and bic pens. The main body is made from a pharmacy type pill container covered with reflective foil ducting tape.
The last photo was the inspiration for this whole deal. My son has never actually seen a Doctor Who episode, much less a Dalek onscreen. But, he is fascinated by Robots and knows that mamas Dalek is a bad robot that Doctor Who has to fight. Shortly after this pic was taken our homemade Dalek exterminated the imperfect 'toy'.
