Jonzagenra and me regarding the Animated Erk...

OK,

Here's the story. Jonza wanted to do the outfit out of all the shiny vinyl, while I wanted to find a cotton material for the sleeves, like EVERY other ape soldier outfit he's done. At the end of the day, I went with what he wanted to do and it looks GREAT. I think it would look better with cloth sleeves, but I couldn't find a material that was the same color that would match. Jonzagenra was right, we had to get it done. There seems to be something sticking in his craw about the whole thing, so I thought I'd post it.

I love the suit and I love him. Nuff said.

Jonzagenra... the genra part is your abbreviation for general I take it, your nickname for Lepage? Haven't figured out the Jonza yet tho.

When I was a kid in the second and third grade, my best friend was John Zagenra. He just reminds me a lot of Dave in a lot of ways. The name just kinda works for him...

We're actually going through kind of the same thing on another figure right now. The prototype soldier ape (the one on the action stallion box cover). He wants to go darker with the vinyl on the tunic and I want to go more the traditional lighter tan, like on the actual figure. I guess we'll see where this one ends up. Stay tuned...

Curiousity got to me and I had to see what the "Erk" in the thread title was... Like Muele, I was thrown off by your abbreviations/nicknames and when I looked at your Galen thread, I thought you had someone new doing your outfits (until I read in here that Jonza is LePage)...

That said, I do agree with you that cloth sleeves would have been nicer, but that's one thing about customs: There's room for creative license....

I agree 100%, Mike. That's one of the elements, to me anyway, that makes them so much fun. The creative license coupled with finding that perfect balance of realism and "megoness" is not only the best part of making any custom for me, but also the most challenging.
