My R2D2 accessory for my SW CustoMegos

    Hi All,
Just want to post this resin piece I did 5 years ago of R2D2.
I was looking for him for quite sometime now ever since I've moved to a new place and still have a lot of my stuff in boxes and found it two days ago.
It's a little big in scale comparison to a Mego figure and I would like him to fit in the CustoMego Star Wars figures I'm doing.
Here is R2D2 with some scratches and originally I painted him with more of a semi dirty or damage look.

HERE IS A COMIC STRIP I DID WHERE STAR WARS MEET STAR TREK
also I wanted show you the scale comparison that I've mentioned.

Hope you all will enjoy this!

R2 looks pretty slick to me... Even though you think he's a little out of scale, I wouldn't worry about that too much... I mean it's not like Mego was always right in their scale anyway... Take Robin for example, he should have been "Teen Titan" sized compared to Batman, yet they were both 8" figures... And from what I've heard, Mr. Mxyzptlk should have been even smaller than the "Our Gang" figures, but he was an 8" figure too... So, depending on how much of the "Mego would have done it that way" mindset you are, they had a few figures that were out of scale to their comic counterparts, so R2 being a little bigger than you like falls in line with that... (I think the R2 unit is fine the way you have it though..)

What are you complaining about? He looks perfect to me.

I was at DragonCon last weekend and I kid you not, someone had a remote control R2D2 unit! It was perfect down to the last detail, and only stood about as high as my abdomen upright.

That's about the proper scale for him anyway, and judging by the picture, he looks to be in perfect scale next to Bones.

He's a beauty, he is. Do you have any plans to make others?

Must agree with Jaida - the scale looks PERFECT, and I wish I had one as well. (PLEASE make more! )
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

Thanks Jaida.I just want to get the member's opinion on the scale since at first I never intended for it to be as an accessory for the SW custom figures that I will be doing and taught of it that it could work and blend well with the Mego scale figures.
The real story is I made him for a Birthday cake topper for my nephew's birthday 5 years ago and he can use it as a tabletop piece figure after, now he had used it as a paper weight because i casted it in solid resin piece.
The figure in the photo is the first trial cast and painted piece i did and he has the more clean finishing to it.
Is this the one you saw at DragonCon?

If I'm going to do other astromec droids, probably the fastest and easiest right now is R4-P17 or R4 for short(attached to Obi-Wan's Delta-7 Aethersprite-class starfighter).
I will just change all Blue colors to Red.
Probably in the near future I'll do other types of droids.
                      Again Thanks.

                        YUP! That's the one!

Where the heck was Threepio? I didn't see him at all, and I was all over the con!

Last year, someone into steampunk made an R2 unit in that genre that actually served drinks!

                        Stoopid camera!
