A big "THANKS" goes out to the brothers Fraim for helping me with this custom.
It is a Herbie the robot custom from the Fantastic Four. I took the HERBIE from the FF Marvel Legends set and enlarged him.
Legend has it that HERBIE replaced the Human Torch for the animated series in the 1970s because the producers were afraid children would play with fire. From what I understand now, that was not the case. I guess Torch was licensed to a movie studio for a feature film and that studio did not allow him to be seen in animated form for TV.
But, it was the case in regards to the creation of Firestar for the Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends cartoon. In a "making-of" episode called Spider-Man On the Move the creator of Firestar explains that Human Torch was supposed to be on the show but was replaced with Firestar because they were afraid children would play with fire. Strange considering we had seen Human Torch in various forms for almost two decades prior.
The first person who can pm me what H.E.R.B.I.E. stands for will get a free head from my site. They just have to pay shipping and handling.

Here is a shot of the whole gang standing in front of their Command Center. This was originally a Super Joe Command Center and I replaced all of the Joe stickers with custom-made FF stickers. Also, the head for my Johnny Storm custom is "Street" from the S.W.A.T line with new blonde hair.
