Atomic Age Starman!!

My take on Starman, if he had been around in the 50's .....

Current Star Rod is a prototype, working on a bit sleeker one. Costume wasnt quite done yet either, but I couldnt wait, so I pitched him together to take a few pictures!!

Just noticed the camera flash lightened the boots up a bit...in real life they match much better to the other green bits.

That is a great looking Star Man!
You know, there was a Star Man in the 50's. Three if you count pre-crisis DC comics. In a weird Batman story Bruce Wayne is the 50's Star Man. The costume turns up again on Dr Midnite later and then one of the original Star Man's sons David used the costume for a bit before his untimely death.

I made the Cosmic Rod/Star Rod out of a piece of brass tubing, an LED light, and some bits and pieces I had kicking around. Its just a simple DC circuit. Unlike my Red Tornado, I decided to skip the on/off switch and just made the wires snap into the battery box (which will be mounted on Starmans back). When I want it on, I snap in the plug, off, I just pull the plug. I ran fine wires through the sleeve of the costume that connect into the rod, and the battery pack. Simple stuff. Way easier than the switch assembly I put into Reddy!!
