Ok so a good buddy of mine organizes a comic convention down here in the Ft Lauderdale/Miami area (Florida Supercon - starts tomorrow) and he asked me to do a custom doll for him this year, since he has Richard Roundtree as one of his guests (along with Fred "The Hammer" Williamson). To my knowledge this is the first convention Roundtree has done - My friend wants to present the figure to him but I'm going to get myself a second insert card signed (So far I've gotten Rico Browning to sign my Creature Universal DVD and Bruce Campbell to sign an Old Spice box. I'm not sure who's iconic enough to be next).
He's on a Castaway body, with CTVT pants, mego fonzie boots and starksy shirt with unidentified (by me anyway) shoulder holster (could someone help me out with ID actually? I'd like to pick up another).

(super quick and dirty bubble jet output here for card - getting printed proper tomorrow afternoon)

Get Them All - Go ask yo Mama!
(for anyone who missed it buried in the thread, here's the Roundtree presentation shot... Give me a break on the photo though - it is SO HARD to try and act cool standing next to shaft.)

[Addition]
As mentioned before I really wanted to take a second pass on the sculpt. I chopped the chin off and re-sculpted it as well as building out the eyes a bit. Bearing in mind that this is 1) a 70's toytastic version and not meant to be photo realistic sideshow style and 2) a hybrid of a number of expressions... I'm ok with it. I could spend a few hours nudging features into place, scaling back sideburns, pumping out the 'fro, etc.
Anyway:

Oh - and I notched out the back of the neck to add "(c) MGM 1971" just to make it totally legit.
