Mego Meet customs, part 2 - Pam Grier

I still might make some changes to this one, namely the hair. I'm deciding between the curly mini-fro and the longer, wavy style that Pam wears occasionally. I might do a little work on the eye makeup as well. I've always thought that the Uhura figure looked more like Pam Grier than Michelle Nichols and wanted to customize one. I figured that she'd make a nice companion piece for Black Dynamite. All I did was paint the mouth so the lips were parted slightly and add the little gap in the teeth. The clothes were just picked from Berto's parts boxes and the gun is from Castaway. They're neat little pistols, but someday I'd like to pick up something more like a glock.
By the way, I think Mego should have made a 12" Pam Grier fashion doll, kind of like the Cher, Farrah, etc. Nobody else had outfits as cool as she did in her movies.

Actually I always thought she looked like Get Christie Love.

    Nice work.

Hmmm, that Uhura sculpt really does look like Pam Grier

And I even REMEMBER 'Get Christie Love'..!?!?!?

Actually, JP1969 sent me a lovely Uhura in a very minty Sue Storm outfit. I actually preferred her in there than her star fleet uniform.

Made her look a little like the First Lady.

I am not familiar with the character but she looks great and I love the way you posed her in the second picture. I have never seen that variation of that AJ shirt either...it looks much better on her than him!

I always thought that the African American Dinah Mite would make a good Teresa Graves, if you repainted the eyes.

Hmmmm..maybe...but Dynah-Mite has a very youthful face. She looks more like a kid than a cop. But maybe w/ the right paint job.

I think a repaint of the eyes, especially more sophisticated eye makeup, would do it. I've always wanted more characters from the "Blaxploitation" movies and TV shows.

                              That outfit is pretty dead-on!

                              and here's the hair!

Love that Pam Grier is on Smallville now.

I think Jackie Brown is one of the more under-rated movies from both her and Quentin Tarantino's fimographies. They managed to capture all the wonderful attitude of her earlier star vehicles while giving it a much more sophisticated frame-work for her to really show off her acting chops.
