Mine have arrived. They got held up at customs, had to pay an extra $15 to receive them. Customs had opened the package, just thinking about the look on their faces when they saw 3 naked custom Mego bodies was worth it tho

I am woefully ignorant of the various types of plastics being used in custom work these days. What kind of plastic do you use in the flesh tone bodies?

for this project I've been using Smooth-On 321 casting resins. I have made some clear bodies using Smooth-On's 327. I've been casting the parts in batches under pressure. Since these resins take a little longer to set up, I'm able to pour 8-10 molds per cycle. The 321 can demold in about 15-20 minutes. the 327 can take 5-7 hours.

For quick/simple casts that don't require pressure, smooth-on 300 series is pretty good. It sets up in just a couple of minutes (sometimes less).

Thank you for the information. I've never done any casting or molding but I am considering an idea for a body design. I appreciate your help.

Has anybody made customs from these yet? I'm really interested to see how they look "in use".

I just wanted everyone know that I will be casting one final batch of bodies to take to mego meet. I honestly don't know if I'll have time to assemble them before the meet (meet attendees may be treated to a sale on unassembled bodies). Whatever figures I have left after the meet will be offered for sale here. After that... I'm done. These were fun, but after making 30+ I'm spent.
