That is great! Do you ever find yourself on the Geoff Johns message Boards? There are some big Ma Hunkle aficionados their! Did you see that she made it into the JSA episode of SmallVille!?!

great custom. Not one you see everyday either.

as for the head, it looks like one of the Our Gang figures, but I cant place which one (I know its not Darla or Alfalfa)...Spanky?

I've never been to those forums, but I was very excited to see Ma wearing the tornado symbol on her apron. I got a great reaction when I dressed up as her for a convention, along with Flash and the Sandman.

It's an adult female head. I removed the paint from the eyes/brows and redid them.

Rats...thought I had that one. Any clues as to whom that head previously belonged too?

The head previously belonged to Glinda. I've never liked her sculpt or face paint. I removed all of her eye paint and hair. The eyes and eyebrows were completely repainted. I rerooted the hair just around the hairline so there was enough pull it back into a small bun. I can't really tell what Ma Hunkel's hairstyle is supposed to be, but it's obviously either short or pulled back, with some frizz in the front. The frizz on the custom was made by rooting short bangs, and then using a hairdryer until they started to melt and pull into short little curls.

The Flash later found the discarded pants stuck in the window of their headquarters. She was a very fun, goofy character.
That's awesome! The more I look at this custom the more I like her.

Is the helmet a lid off something? It would make a great custom AJ fireman helmet.

How do you remove the eyepaint? Acetone/Nail polish remover applied with a cotton ball or some other judiciously careful method?

The pot on her head is the black plastic container film comes in. I trimmed the height and sanded the recycling symbol from the top. For the eyeholes, I drew them exactly the way I wanted them with one of those white fabric marking pencils. Then I used an exacto knife to make tiny cuts along those lines, then cut the whole thing out. I was able to slice off any uneven edges. Then I primed and spraypainted the container. For the black of the eyeholes, I placed a piece of the black scrap plastic I cut from the container behind the eyeholes and secured it with duct tape.

Basically, yeah. It didn't matter how carefully it was removed, since I completely repainted the eyes anyway.
