    Hawkman!

    Howdy Friends!

We just finished our latest custom and wanted to share it with you all. It's Hawkman! The suit and head are from Mr. Leitner. The body, boots, and wings are from Dr. Mego. The head paint and emblem are by us. The mace is from the Super Powers Hawkman which we admit is a little small, but still works.

The wings are soft and spongy and were screwed on to the figure's back. We thought about adding the yellow talon details on his boots, but wanting to keep the look and feel of "Classic Mego" we decided against it.

    Thanks for looking!

Indeed. Has a Mego-like feel to it. Pretty sure Mego would have gave him a body suit.

I've often wondered what Mego would have done about Hawkman's wings had they actually made the figure. Would we have seen something like the Falcon's wings - simply sewn to the bodysuit under the arms? I'm anxious to see what Mattel could do with this figure should he make the Retro Action figure line.

Perhaps something padded like the Lizard's tail?

That would work and it certainly wouldn't get smashed by the box or card back. Good point.

Nice crisp colors. Clean execution. No fussy details.

                      I'd say he's perfect!

And who says that a smaller mace can't be effective? This way, he's not bogged down by the extra weight of a large one.

He rocks ! And I like that youy guys didn't add the yellow stripes to the boots. When you add to much detail to a figure it seems that it just dosen't go with your older megos.
