    Custom Daredevil

This is one I've been wanting to do forever. It has to be in the Mego want Holy Triumvirant with Dr Doom and Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider. The 3D heads are around, and I think I could have done the costume, but I could never figure out the clubs. In recent weeks I've been looking at figures I've had put away for years. Among them were several Famous Covers, including Daredevil. Just this Friday, I was looking on Ebay to see if they had the Diamond Daredevil. They didn't, but they had a ton of the Famous Covers Daredevil. I've read how customizers have used FC parts before. Inspiration hit like a bolt from the blue. I ordered one that was on sale for $13 (free shipping) as a replacement, then dug out mine from storage, cracked it open, and got to work. It's a Trek body special. I painted the eyes black, then attached the head with the "technique " I've described in my Pez head Hulk post. The bodysuit already fit pretty well. The pants were just a little long. The DD is made of pleather and was flaking a little. Just colored it with a red sharpie. Had to cut the belt a little to make it fit snug. Painted the hands and boots. If you have WAWAs around you, you know they have red re usable shopping bags. Used material from that for the glove and boot cuffs. Of course I kept the clubs and pouch that came with it. Part custom, part kitbash. I may get a 3D head later, but this puts Calamine lotion on this itch. As an aside, I have to say that even though the FC figures were very badly designed, they were built well. I really like the bodysuit, and would recommend it to anyone wanting a Daredevil custom. I was pleasantly surprised it turned out this well. The body construction of FC reminds me of newer bodies, with the swivel biceps. They're heavy plastic and have the feel of NuMego bodies. If only they didn't look like they were designed by an impressionist painter. It's a good feeling to find out you can do a new figure with parts you already have.

      Good work!

Looks good but the head will not fit to well with other Mego.

Yeah, like I said, I'll get a 3D head later. I just wanted to see how it would turn out with what I had. The FCs really were made well. Just a shame they look like a Salvador Dali fever dream
