    Action Apemen custom style

One of the fun things, getting into this, is learning about action figures I never heard of before. I guess I was too Mego, Six Million Dollar Man, Evel Knieval, and Big Jim centric. I had never before known about companies like AHI. I do have memories of seeing the monster castle logo, and I did have a rubber Kong I think was theirs, but I probably thought all that had to do with the Mad Monsters, and let it go at that. Seeing videos on AHI, I found out about the Action Apeman series. I certainly never saw these. Well, who doesn't like manlike apes? Since I've been using fake fur lately, I decided to do some apes inspired by this line. Doesn't look alot like them, but they do look like apes. They can be background apes. I was thinking how the ape extras during Ursus' speech in Beneath the Planet of the Apes were wearing rubber masks. Similar. Made on Trek bodies. Painted the hands brown. Made the heads. I know alot of them were dressed in camouflage, but I didn't have any camouflage. I made the outfits based on other outfits I saw them wearing. Got their ape M16s from CTVT of course. PS, that Zira is such a flirt when she's had some grape juice plus.

Thanks. Yeah, I try to get them in lots, if I can. They overmade Kirk and Spock, so the nudes ones are cheap. They always come with boots, so that's part of the battle. If they dry up, you'll know who to blame.

Nice job on these! Perhaps it's a Philly thing. I never heard of or saw any Action Apes before joining this forum. However, I did see/have lots of AHI monsters from Kresge's.

Yeah, like I said above, I do remember seeing the castle logo in stores, but thought it was part of the Mad Monsters. I already had Drac, Frankenstein etc. Since I had a brother, there were only so many figures I could get. Never even knew about the Apemen, Lincoln or Tomland monsters before the net.
