From the episode Galileo 7. In my opinion the ultimate Spock episode. A test of his command abilities, where he's found wanting. The shuttlecraft Galileo is stranded on an alien world and under attack by hostile natives. To a Trek fan boy (like me), I think it's a perfect "in universe" reason for Spock never really wanting a command of his own, and despite his abilities, being content with being Kirk's first officer. With every decision he makes, their situation just seems to get worse. There's even a scene where the crew is under attack, and Spock at first just rambles about how illogical the situation is ,sounding almost like a nervous breakdown. After this experience, he must have realized that full time command wasn't for him. Sure in Wrath of Khan, he's the captain of the Enterprise, but it's a training ship. As soon as actual combat seems possible, he's content to turn command back to Kirk. Even after Kirk is broken back to captain in Voyage Home, Spock returns to being first officer. Spock didn't really make his mark on history until he left Starfleet, and became an ambassador ( unless you count the whole dying and rising from the grave thing). I made the head and used fake fur for the hair and beard. The shield is cardboard wrapped in brown cloth, with real twigs glued on. The spear is a twig, with a pointed landscape stone glued on for the tip. Living in the woods, there's lots of that stuff laying around. The stitching on the shield is black electrical tape. The body is from a NuMego Cowardly Lion. In a picture with Spock. Not to scale obviously. My first Trek Custom.
