    Spiderman's Arch Enemy Hobgoblin

A character with alot of wasted potential. Back in the eighties he started as a mystery carrying on the legacy of the Green Goblin. Most of us are at an age where we were around during the Death of Gwen Stacy storyline, but were too young to buy the comics at the time. At least for me, I learned about Norman Osborn through back issues

and Marvel Tales reprints. There was Harry Osborn and Bart Hamilton, but the Hobgoblin storyline started when we were teens. He was OUR goblin. He was on his way to becoming a major Spidey foe, but Marvel seemed to lose interest. The end of the mystery was anti climactic. Ned Leeds was killed in the Spiderman-Wolverine special, and the revelation that he was Hobgoblin came in a flashback issue. A supervillain killed by a bunch of mercenaries. Jack O Lantern then became the Hobgoblin for a bunch of years, but there was nothing special. More years later we find out that a lesser known character named Roderick Kingsley was the real Hobgoblin, and Ned was a poor dupe all along. Then Norman came back, and in my opinion the whole Hobgoblin character became superfluous, but enough of my rant. This custom is a homage to the mystery Hobgoblin of our teens. Made on a classic Trek body. Everything else by me. Painted the hands and boots. Made the costume from some old t-shirts of mine. Made the head. Made the satchel, and put a snap on it. The super pumpkin bomb is the top of a Halloween Pez dispenser.

This is one neat custom. I like the painted Trek boots in orange, how you made the clothes from old t shirts is very cool.
        Well done job.
