Mego Brother Power the Geek, Yeah Baby Yeah

Strap on your SCUBA tanks for this dive daddios. From a time when some comics could be just as trippy as dropping acid. Combine Frankenstein with sixties counterculture and you get Brother Power. Created by Joe Simon, he started out as a lifeless tailors dummy. A hippie group is attacked by a biker gang. They take refuge in an abandoned tailor shop during a storm. One hippie gets out of his wet clothes and puts them on the dummy. There is some blood on the clothes, and they put it over an Iron radiator near a window. Lightning strikes, and like Frosty, the dummy begins to dance around. He becomes their protector, and since he has super strength, they name him Brother Power. In the second and last issue, he gets shot into space in a capsule. He stays in orbit until the modern day, when the capsule crashes into Tampa Florida( Swamp Thing Ann 5). Here we find that he's a kind of elemental, and can make new bodies from rags and scraps. He uses the crash debris to make a giant body and walks around downtown Tampa, until he's convinced to leave. He's made a handful of appearances since. I wanted to do a custom I could make from stuff I already had. I also wanted to make him look like a rag doll, since that's what he is. Used a classic Trek body. Painted the hands white. Used a spare Mego head. Wrapped it with white cloth, glued down with E600. Got a yellow rag(unused), and cut strips off. Glued them to the head for the hair. Drew the face on. Used actual ripped Mego pants I had. Made the orange shirt and logo. You can tell he's a Mego, but he has a rag doll/scarecrow look.

Brother Power the Geek, is still one of the most unique comic book characters ever, even to this day.

you did a great job, well done!!!
