John Wayne Western Hero

Here is my custom of John Wayne in his famous cowboy outfit. Got the head sculpt and painting done way back in the day from Dave McCormick, original mego body, clothes, western boots and six shooter and western rifle from classic tv toys, the neck scarf was a quick put together by me, classic toys didn’t have it in white.

I couldn’t find a pink shirt to match the back picture, but would the Duke be caught in a pink shirt to begin with? get real pilgrims.

Card art was color printouts off the internet cut to fit the clamshell case, the figure slides out and back in, I thought a front picture with his name at the top with the American flag backdrop would be cool.

John Wayne is known for his many western movies, so I thought it would be fitting to dress him in the outfit.

Beautifully done. Duke would be proud. Should try getting a military outfit to put him in, to change back and forth. Westerns and war films were his genres. Is this the custom you wanted the info on attaching the head on?

Thank you, I actually have another Wayne head exactly the same, I wanted to get two of them from back in the day, although he’s not wearing a military outfit, I have him dressed casually to match the card art, I will post that one soon.

If I wanted to get a military outfit, (Sands of Iwo Jima) I might have to get the Action Jackson army clothes package, not sure classic tv toys has anything I could use, plus I don’t think they carry any green army helmets.

No, this wasn’t the one about the head attachments, that was about how to remove the neck stem from the NuMego bodies, I did figure it out, thanks for asking.

I know it'd be character specific, but it'd be cool to add an eye patch to him to turn him into Rooster Cogburn.
