Captain Kirk City on the Edge of Forever

Here is my custom of Captain Kirk from the episode, The City on the Edge of Forever, might be my all time favorite episode of the series.

I used the EMCE Kirk head on original mego body, shirt is from Waltons John Boy, I couldn’t find the exact red and black checkered pattern so I thought this John Boy shirt was pretty close, I’m not sure which version shirt this was maybe 3rd version shirt?

CTVT gray pants, black dress socks and black shoes and reddish brown jacket which I think worked well in matching the jacket he wore in the episode.

I wanted a custom from this episode, but I was not having much luck with Edith Keeler head and outfit, so I figured a kitbash Kirk would be good.

I took a couple of pictures of Kirk from the episode wearing this outfit with my cell phone, but the museum site was having a problem downloading and kept saying system error.

Okay, I just noticed my first post, did actually go thru with pics from the episode. I thought I had canceled it, oh well all the better I guess, just really strange.

        Excellent!

I want an Edith figure, too. Would the 9" Playmates head shrink enough?

Thanks so much, I was lucky that CTVT had that color jacket and pants.

Thanks Scott. I’m not sure if the playmates head would shrink enough? I’ve never done head shrinking, don’t have the time or patience or the chemicals to do it anyway or try to find the right clothing to match the character.

                  This came out really nice!

I was thinking the other day about how the villain of Star Trek II may have come from "Space Seed", but the pathos definitely was inspired by "City on the Edge of Forever". The idea that Edith Keiler is a good person and on the right side of history, and yet she still needs to die for the greater good of history... it definitely echoes the whole "good of the many outweighs the good of the one" question from Wrath of Khan, and Kirk needing to watch Spock die for the greater good.

But I digress. What I'm trying to say is: Excellent figure for an excellent episode!

Thank you, my goal is to make at least one custom from each episode, but it’s probably not going to happen. Currently I have done customs from 46 episodes out of 79

Thank you, appreciate it. I was actually thinking about taking a page from your book and doing the MeTV weekly mego Star Trek episode scene. Although I can’t do every episode and don’t want to crash in on your original idea.

Feel free to use the idea. With my family issues I haven't had time to do anything bouncing between 3 houses.

Thats an interesting thought and I do see similarities of these episodes, that’s what makes the Star Trek universe so great!
Thanks for liking my custom, I was actually lucky that CTVT had that color jacket and Mego JB had a close similar shirt color pattern.

I hear you about family issues, I’m a caregiver for my mom, (Alzheimers dementia) so it limits the time for hobbies etc.
Good luck with everything you do.
