Thor: God of THUNDER!! Mego/Hybrid figure..

Ok... I had success with my last hybrid figure where as I put Daimond Select Dr Doom arms onto a type S Torso for my custom Dr Doom...

I have wanted to add Thor to my Marvel Mego style roster for a while, but wanted him to be a bit beefier looking. Not Hulk sized beefy...but you know what I mean..

I put a pair of Jakks WWF arms on a type S torso, and it works great, no modification needed at all. The suit is from the old Diamond select set.
It looked ok...but man he looked like Thor skipped leg day...so I went about trying to figure out how to beef up them LEGS!

Turns out Jakks also made UFC figures. The guys wearing shorts had hip joints similar enough in size to a Type S hip ball.. the pieces consisted of two halves glued together. I stuck some foam in and was able to make the joint just tight enough. Than I stuff a Jakks WWF thigh onto the hip joint pegs and replaced those lower legs with the UFC lowers at just below the knees to add a little height. The suit miraculously fit perfectly!! Just enough stretch to them unlike the other first few sets with the super tight suits... I also wanted some interchangeable heads.. so I utilized my "gluing a type S neck peg into the torso neck hole" method I used for my Wolverine and Spirit customs.. and cut off the head pegs. The DS Thor head had to be modded a bit around the frontal hair area to sit better... the hammer and effect are from a Marvel Legends Thor figure...

    Ok... so here he is...

    THOR!

Here are some height comparison pictures...He's not much TALLER then a normal Mego type figure, but he's still a beast standing next to them..

Very nice work putting this together, he stands well next to Cap and I like the slightly muscular arm look, great job!

It did have to be altered a bit. As it was, the head WOULD NOT sit flush at the neck...so I carved away the back of the let front hair lock until it would fit well enough...
