    My Customs 2009

OK, folks, here's my first pass at posting pics of the customs I've worked on this year (and HOO-BOY, do I have a LOT of customs to show, so consider this a taste for now).

    First up, The Rocketeer!

Cliff Secord is wearing a Brian Leitner original, with boots and Luger supplied by our own Dr. Mego. An Applause Rocketeer figure nobly gave it's life (and helmet and rocketpack) that this custom might live).

This custom is respectfully dedicated to that haberdasher of heroes, our own Bombastic Brian Leitner (you da man, Brian!).

Next up... a group shot of Grendel, Rocketeer, and a WIP Ghost Rider (I need chains and spikes!!!)

Hunter Rose in the back just needs his fork like staff and he's done, so if anyone's got such an implement of death available, please PM me!

Oh, and Grendel is dedicated to BlackKryptonite (thanks for the head, dude!).

I'd also like to thank my hometown homeboy and all around good egg, jwiz154, for getting me hooked all over again with Mego collecting and customizing. You're all that and a bag of chips, Jerry!

Hope ya like 'em! More to come!
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

Yes, A rocketeer. They look great. Nice work.

Oh, man, nice Rocketeer! I wanted to make one so I paid like $20 on ebay for a box full of Rocketeer candy dispensers that turned out to be pretty much too big to do anything with. Oh, how my wife laughed (while she beat me with a wrench).

Awesome figures! I love that Rocketeer! As for Grendel's staff, I think you could probably make one from an old paint brush handle and perhaps carve the 2 prongs out of wood or sculpy. nice work

Thanks for the feedback, folks! The Rocketeer was a labor of love, let me tell ya. I could've sworn I had one of the Rocketeer helmet and jet pack candy dispensers Gary mentioned, but couldn't find 'em, so the Applause figure had to go.

BlackKryptonite - yeah, I'm considering handmaking my own "fork" for Grendel in a similar manner to what you suggested; I did see my local comic shop's got one of the old 8" Grendel figures for sale, but I don't want to buy the figure JUST for the fork. Also, a head's up to ya... MADMAN is next up on my customs list, thanks to the head you sold me, so thanks for that!

BlackKnight - thanks! I've gotta get cracking on painting the Cyborg, Mary Jane Watson, and Bruce Lee heads you sent me and make my customs of those three (incidentally - anyone have a good flesh-tone paint mix that matches the Cast-A-Way Caucasian bodies? Can't have Bruce Lee looking two-toned!).

Think next batch of pics will be some Marvel and DC customs. Stay tuned!

Ask MegoSpidey.... I thought his Paints on the Flash Gordon Head Came out pretty Damn Close & Good for the Body.

Great job on the Rocketeer. The others look cool too, but the Rocketeer rocks
