    My 12" figure finished

I've had this idea for a new superhero for over a year and I decided to make a 12" figure out of it.After almost a year he's finally done, his name is PHOENIX and his powers come from the mythological bird of the same name.I plan on making an 8" figure of him in the near future.I'd like to thank Wes McCue for his help with the gloves, boots and the belt,Anthony Durso for his custom box and Brian Leitner for making the costume.I hope everybody enjoys looking at him as I did in creating him.

Nice design and execution. You have any background for him? Powers, etc? And is that a removable mask?

The mask is removable and here's a brief history of the character. IN 1978 AMATEUR ARCHEAOLOGISTS JOSEPH BLAZE AND HIS 9 MONTH PREGNANT WIFE ANGELICA,WHILE VACATIONING IN GREECE FIND A HIDDEN TEMPLE WHICH HAS AN URN WITH THE ASHES OF THE MYTHOLOGICAL BIRD “THE PHOENIX”.A SUDDEN EARTHQUAKE,AS THE TEMPLE BEGINS TO FALL APART THE URN WITH THE PHOENIX ASHES FALL ON HER PREGNANT STOMACH.SHORTLY THEREAFTER ANGELICA GOES INTO LABOR AND AS THEIR SON DANIEL IS BORN,ANGELICA DIES IN A BURST OF FLAMES.GRIEF STRICKEN JOSEPH SURCUMS TO A MYSTERIOUS DISEASE FROM THE TEMPLE AND DIES.DANIEL THE SOLE SURVIVOR OF THE FAMILY INHERITANCE ALONG WITH THEIR SERVANT LAWRENCE BEGIN A JOURNEY INTO THE UNKNOWN.
FAST FORWARD,TO THE PRESENT,A NOW 30 YEAR DANIEL BLAZE IS THE LOCAL FIRE CHIEF OF STATION 486 IN LONG VALLEY CALDERA,
CALIFORNIA AND WHEN THE SPIRIT OF THE PHOENIX CALLS TO HIM HE GOES TO THE KITCHEN,FLIPS A SWITCH AND THE DOUBLE OVENS SWING OPEN TO REVEAL A SECRET ELEVATOR THAT LEADS TO A UNDERGROUND LAIR.IT’S POWER SOURCE IS A GEOTHERMAL INACTIVE VOLCANO.DANIEL IS POWERED BY THE PHOENIX’S REMAINS.NOBODY KNOWS WHO HE IS EXCEPT FOR LAWRENCE THE SERVANT.PHOENIX CAN BE KILLED BY ANY WAY POSSIBLE,UPON DYING,HE BODY BURSTS INTO FLAMES WHICH TURNS TO ASHES THEN THE ASHES ARE REBORN INTO THE PHOENIX ONCE AGAIN BUT MORE POWERFULL THAN BEFORE.HIS EYES ARE ONLY VISIBLE AND WHEN HE CRIES,HIS TEARS HAVE MAGICAL HEALING PROPERTIES.EVERYTIME THE PHOENIX IS REBORN HIS BELT MAGICALLY HAS NEW WEAPONS THAT ARE POWERED BY HIS PHOENIX POWERS.

                        Neat!

I'm always glad to see folks doing figures of their own characters, 'specially when they've got a whole story made up for them.

Now you need some bad guys....
