    The Bionic Man (SMDM that is..)

    My take on Steve Austin, the Six Million Dollar Man.....

    Originally I was going to box him in a shrink of the Kenner
    1st Issue Box, but decided to card him when I found the
    cool image of Steve, Oscar and Jamie. It gave me a Mego
    kinda vibe and reminded me of the Dukes of Hazzard artwork
    so I actually used that card as a starting point.

    I figured Steve, Oscar and Jamie in Wave 1 and, if successful,
    Mego would follow up with Wave 2 of Bigfoot, Maskatron and Fembot.

    And originally I was going to use the popular recipe of the
    Jefferson Darcy jogging suit but I messed up the dye-process
    So I went with the leisure suit look instead.
    And it matches the card...

                                                  Great stuff Anthony. Do I even need to comment on how wonderfully Mego the packaging is? I can't imagine Mego in 1977 themselves coming up with a better card. Is the head a shrunken down version?

                                                          Good looking card. I saw that art too and thought of using it for mine but I wanted something that seemed to come out at the beginning of the Six Million Dollar Man in 1974/5 and it couldn't include Jaime Sommers since she came later.

                                                          Your style is consistent with Mego's late 70's/early 80's backer cards too so it all comes together.
